In his role at Force Detroit / Faith In Action from 2020 to 2023, Screal collaborated in fundraising a $3.3 million budget and securing $500K from the State of Michigan Violence Intervention budget. He regranted approximately $700K annually to grassroots organizations and leaders, providing strategic leadership to FORCE campaigns and building cross-functional teams. His efforts ensured coordination and participation in communication strategies and maintained strong partnerships with community organizations, philanthropic bodies, and government officials.
As the National City Manager for TandemED / Own Your Story (2020-2022), Screal oversaw grant programs addressing social issues affecting African American/Black residents in multiple cities. He regranted approximately $1.1 million to community projects and organizations, conducting comprehensive due diligence and landscape analysis to select high-performing organizations. His collaboration with local community leaders fostered strong relationships and effective collaboration.
During his fellowship at Live Free Detroit - USA / Force Detroit (2018-2020), Screal developed and implemented strategic plans, fostering strong stakeholder relationships and demonstrating expertise in financial management. His advocacy efforts and program development effectively addressed community needs, delivering measurable outcomes.
As the Chief Visionary Officer and Vice President of New Era Detroit/Nation (2014-2022), Screal collaborated with the executive team to develop and implement strategic plans, overseeing the management of 15 programs and two initiatives. He built strategic partnerships, led fundraising efforts, and represented the organization in external engagements, advocating for self-sufficiency and community responsibility.
Screal's achievements include receiving the 2024 Soul and Harmony Award, the 2023 Spirit of Detroit Award, State of Michigan Tributes, and the 2023 ForbesBLK Local Advisory Council. He has been recognized with numerous tributes and awards for his dedication to community activism and empowerment. Screal continues to enhance his knowledge and skills.
